The S.S.K.L. will be holding their
Annual 'Eleventh Night' Street Pageant on Sat
10th July with the proceedings getting underway
from Grahams Garage, Newcastle Street, at 8.15pm.
Leading from the Front as in other years will
be Marshal Schomberg this year he will be accompanied
by General Ginkel, OKA Glen Pratt from the Ulster
Scots Association in America (Glen hails from
Texas and he has travelled over from the U.S.A.for
the pageant as a special guest of the S.S.K.L.
Following
Schomberg & Ginkelwill be King William III
(Jason Hanna) on board his white horse and flanked
by the Schomberg Fife & Drum and their Musket
and Pike men. For the first time this
year the Antrim and Carrick yeomanry will swell
the ranks accompanying the Cavan & Monaghan
Volunteers complete with the Williamite Cannon
and at the rear. The Lower Iveagh Fencibles
with Horse and Cart, gunpowder barrels and supplies.
All regiments will carry Williamite Colours.
The pageant will srtop at the Knockchree Avn
Memorial Stone for a wreath laying ceremony
conducted for the first time this year by The
Rev William Bingham. Then its on to the Town
Bon fire site in the library Car Park.
A free open-air concert will
commence at approx 9.15pm with the Kirknarra
School of Dance, the Schomberg Fife & Drum,
the boy band Addiction and Mr Gareth Fulton
providing the entertainment. This will
be a Family Evening of Colour, Laughter, Fun,
good music and enjoyment, so be there.
